Gone With The Wind...

Yesterday we had some pretty high winds here in Paris. I think I heard they got up to 55 mph. I know the wind kept blowing our door open & by the end of the day, we had a pretty good leafy build up inside our front door & past the counter. As far as I can tell, our building & 111 did not get any damage. Here are some pics of a building in the downtown area that did get some damage.

This view is from in front of Kari & Josiah's building looking toward the square.

The following are just diffent views from other areas around the building.

Mom said the winds are supposed to get up again today... I hope not!!!

The gentleman that rents the bottom floor of that building, which is actually Crystal Palace Antiques now instead of Almost Antiques, is my friend's brother.

He also lives on that floor and fortunately, he wasn't there at the time this happened. Cathy tells me when he wanted to get back into the building to get his coat, checkbook and some other personal items, he thought he was going to be arrested! He finally convinced the Fire Chief he needed some important things out of there at least for the night and the Chief escorted him inside to grab a few things.

Cathy says the upper three floors are in use by the owner of the building mostly for storage. She also told me her brother was allowed to "go home" today.

Fortunately, nothing was damaged in the interior, but it will be if they don't get a roof back on it soon.

Great pics, Denise!

I drove by today and saw what building it was. It is one block off the NW corner of the Plaza on Bonham Street. On the South side of Bonham. I hope they can get a cover on it quick

Still doesnt look like they've done anything with the roof yet...other than tear off what you see in the pictures. I sure hope the historic society makes him put up something better looking than that red stuff he had up there!!!
